Just to clarify

Just to clarify on my earlier post: I’m looking for housing in the Waltham and surrounding towns option. Not that I have anything against those of you who prefer being on the red line, the green line, or whatnot, but I’d like to be close to my office…

Treat your books nicely….

One should be more careful around bookshelves…. they outnumber us by a large margin…..

This time one of them decided to get the better of me. While puttering in my library, I made the mistake of grabbing a bookshelf for support. Rather, the mistake was which bookshelf I grabbed…. the freestanding one that helps divide the library space from the rest of my bedroom. It decided it would have none of that, by gum, –and who was I to use it so-; and promptly toppled.

The garbage can on the other side was sent flying, the box behind it was squished, and the few items on top were sent asunder. Overall, everything else was fine, including me. The books were all in place excluding one or two suicidal textbooks that jumped from the top shelf. One shelf was knocked askew, but that was easily corrected. I was able to step around to the other side and with a mighty heave managed to put the thing (6′ tall, full of books) aright.

Needless to say, I won’t do that again. Oh, and I put some shims under it to set it. That’s it, I’m done. Goodnight. That was enough adventure for the rest of the evening. I’m just glad it was easily fixed with no harm done.

It’s Official: Looking for a new place with new people…

Recent announcements from my two current housemates indicate that both have plans to be living elsewhere by the end of the summer, when our current lease is up. I’ll be looking for a new place with at least one new roomate.

Our current lease is up at the end of August. I’ll be looking for a new place a little before then. If you or anyone you know is going to be looking for a new place to live in that time frame, I’m currently taking applications for roomates. *grin*
