I walked to work today for what may very well be the last time in my life that I can say that honestly.
And I listened to the first chapter of Robinson Crusoe on the way.

Does anybody want to go to the Museum of Science? I picked up five tickets to go with friends last Friday, but they got their own, so now I have three discounted tickets left over. $5 each, good for all the exhibit halls, but not Omni, or any of the other special items (like the butterfly room). Still a considerable deal given that the exhibit halls alone are usually $14. First claim gets them.
Update: They don’t expire until the end of the year, so they’ve got 6 months on them.
Last weekend went pretty well overall. Let’s hope this weekend does too. My concert went smoothly, even if the songs themselves still had a few rough edges and burrs. We raised almost 300 dollars which we put to paying off the microphones and interface equipment, and we donated about 120 to the church’s non-funded music group. Thanks to those of you who came, it put a big smile on my face. Lunch for my departing coworker was fun, although as the guest of honor he was over an hour late. Dim sum on Sunday ent exceedingly well, and I had a good time afterwards playing bocce, board games, fixing a bumper (helping, while trying to not get in the way), eating ice cream, and chatting. And just because it amused me more than most:

You have a strong sense of the communal good and you aren’t too demanding. You know better than to mess with the powers that be. You value being surronded by the right people, but don’t care too much about what people beyond your group think of you. You are also the last element to be mentioned in every vitamin commercial, and have gained recognition throughout the 50+ community as the very symbol of "completeness." Hmm, you might be good at taking care of sick people, but that might be hogwash too. |

Went to Danger Planet last night and played a few games. Had one unpleasant experience where a gentleman who was losing got a little pissy and started bitching about another players innocuous comment. Does make me wish all gamers had to read this article on Ethics in Gaming. It’s probably not a perfect article, but is is fairly comprehensive and well stated.
