I have nothing against anime, and even enjoy some of it, but most of it is just odd, cliched, overdramaticized, underexplained, pointless, or just plain bad. All that is, of course, just my opinion, so please don’t bombard me with comments telling me I’m wrong. Anyhow, when I came across this: http://www.campchaos.com/show.php?iID=888 , I recognized the work of someone who shares some of my opinions. It’s a spoof of Anime where Popeye is called in to save the earth… and it’s darned funny.

Serenity delayed by studios for 5 months (insert cursing in Chinese here)
As posted by Joss Whedon at http://whedonesque.com/?comments=5406#42832 , Serenity, the Firefly Movie has been delayed by 5 MONTHS to September 30th. Why? The studios seem to think there’s going to be too much competition for the demographic in April. I think we got robbed. Looking at what the IMDB says is coming out in April (This isn’t a complete list I’m sure, just what the IMDB can get) at http://www.imdb.com/nowplaying/2005/04 , I see _very_ few other flicks that catch my eye. *sigh* Haven’t the fans been tortured enough?

This is going to be a great show. The venue is small, and ticket sales are “brisk” according to the ACME folks. I invite all of you to come and see us, in our first major public performance. The best way to get tickets is to call the above number. The ACME Theater does not have online ticket sales.
Superheroes on the brain…
So, between the Wild Card books by George Martin, Teen Titans on TV, Strange Synergy by Steve Jackson Games, X-men Legends on the gamecube and now The Incredibles out in theaters, I _really_ want someone to run a superheroes campaign of some sort so I can play in it….
(Not to mention all the other saturday morning cartoons, comic book movies that have come out and are coming out, etc…)
