Apologies if I have been LJ silent lately. I haven’t been getting updates. On the 8th TPTB* made changes to the CSS and HTML munger. As a side effect, anytime I use <link>, it gets wiped out. The downshot to this is that the custom style I use to turn my friends feed no longer even resembles valid xml, forget a valid RSS feed. And helpfully (not), my feedreeder has neglected to inform me that the feed it has continued to be able to receive isn’t actually a feed anymore.
The real suck behind this is that there has been a huge number of people asking TPTB* for at least two years to implement a feed of the friends page. If they’d actually do that, I wouldn’t have to hack a style that mimics an xml feed.

I think what bugs me most about all the recent Danish Cartoon brouhaha is that the cartoons were first published last September. It’s a big pill to swallow that it took 4 months for the outrage to grow to these levels. Makes it feel more like a convenient reason to be outraged, than any real reason.
